[ikinuite midoshi nana kai meguri kuru]

Living through up in all my life 7th Year of the Snake has come around again this year

The messenger of Benzaiten, one of the Seven Lucky Gods, is a snake,
so I drew her playing the biwa while being protected by a white snake.

Born in the year of the snake, Migaku-san will be 84 this year.
From the day of his first cry until today, he has grown up with many different experiences and emotions,
and he has lived his life helping and being helped, never forgetting to be grateful.

Migaku-san has mellowed with age, and he never imagined spending his days composing poetry.

31 of Migaku-san's poems were published in the newspaper last year.
This year, two more have been published, bringing the total to 166.

May his 8th year of the Snake be filled with good health and poetry every day!
