[kitakami no nagare no yodo ni shigako hari asahi ni kagayaki mizudori tudou]

Kitakami River
at stagnant of flow of the river
it is icing over
shine in the morning sun
waterfowl gathering

In the Tohoku dialect, when ice forms on the surface of the water, it is called "ice (shigako).''

In the cold morning, it feels like spring is still a long way off, and the stagnation of the Kitakami River is covered in ice.
On the ice, waterbirds are resting their wings, shining in the morning sun.

Looking at such a scene, Migaku-san wrote this tanka poem.
