Laying out a straw mat
under the tree of
beautiful cherry blossom
the night before going fishing
one night drinking party

Hakodate is also the season of cherry blossom viewing.

During the Showa period when Migaku-san was out fishing,
he would enjoy cherry blossom viewing party three times a year.

After finishing the tuna fishing, enjoyed cherry blossom viewing in Tokyo.
After returning home, enjoyed cherry blossoms viewing in Miyagi.
Finally, set sail on a mothership-style salmon trout fishing
and enjoyed cherry blossom viewing in Hakodate.

At that time, Hakodate was bustling with many people,
including fishermen, families who came to see them off, and traders.

The fishing boat was loaded with straw mats, which can also be
used to spread and transport fish so as not to damage them.
At times, it seems that he was active in the banquet of cherry blossom viewing.

The night before going out to fish,
enjoyed cherry blossom viewing with everyone together on the straw mats.

It's Migaku-san's memories of the sea in the Showa period.
