[ondan de sake mo kaerenu haha no kawa]

With global warming
salmon cannot return
to the mother river

Salmon are born in rivers and leave Japan to travel overseas.

They spend 3 to 5 years living at sea in the Sea of Okhotsk, the Sea of Alaska,
and the Bering Sea.
When the spawning season comes, they return to the mother river where they were born,
connecting lives and then end their lives.

However, due to global warming in recent years, seawater temperatures have risen,
and the number of salmon returning to the rivers in Sanriku is drastically decreasing.

It is said that salmon remember the smell of the river in which they were born,
but have they lost sight of their mother river?

Migaku-san is also writing another verse.

In the ocean
disappears hte smell of
the mother river
