蜘蛛たちが何かを悟り巣を低く

[kumo-tachi ga nanika wo satori su wo hikuku]

Sensing a subtle change,
the spiders weave their webs low

蜘蛛は、自然の変化を敏感に察知し、
巣を張る位置を調整すると言われています。

強風を避けるために巣を低く張ることもあり、
こうした行動から

『蜘蛛が巣を低く張る年は台風が多い』

という言い伝えもあります。



磨さんは、
庭先の小さな蜘蛛たちの姿に
強い生命力を感じ、

また酷暑が続く暑い日には、
こんな詩も詠み、

『蜘蛛が巣を日陰に作る賢さよ』

蜘蛛の賢さを川柳に讃えました。

It is said that spiders are highly sensitive to changes in nature and adjust the places where they build their webs.

They sometimes build their webs lower to avoid strong winds.
This behavior has even given rise to a traditional saying: “A year when spiders build their webs low will bring many typhoons.”

Migaku-san was deeply moved by the vitality of the tiny spiders he saw in his garden.

He wrote this senryu on a hot day during a period of extreme heat:

“How wise the spider
building its web in the shade
on a scorching day”

Through this senryu, he praises the spider’s wisdom and its remarkable ability to adapt to nature.
